I've begun to make items to be carried at the local Woods Farm Market (also available in my Etsy store), and one of them is an all-cotton, padded bag for microwaving potatoes/sweet potatoes so they turn out just like oven-baked.
It can also be used for cooking corn on the cob and steaming other veggies, as well as re-heating tortillas, bread, and rolls. Find the recipe for potatoes below, as well as care instructions. Happy baking!
Microwave Potato Recipe
Wash potatoes with desired method. Do NOT pierce.
Place potatoes in the bag, and tuck in rounded edge. Approximately 2 potatoes will fit in the small bag, and up to 4 potatoes in the large bag.
Microwave on full power for 1-2 minutes per medium potato, in 3-4 minute increments.
Check the potatoes for done-ness after 3-4 minutes. Let potatoes rest 30 seconds. If not cooked through, repeat the process until the potatoes are soft.
